Diplomacy/ President Tiani meets outgoing Egyptian Ambassador, stresses bilateral ties

Niamey, Niger – His Excellency General Abdourahamane Tiani, President of the Republic of Niger, received the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Mr. Sayed Mahamed Ahmed El Salahey, for a farewell audience on Monday, marking the end of the diplomat’s mission in the country.

The meeting, described as warm and mutually respectful, provided an opportunity for President Tiani to commend the Ambassador’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations between Niger and Egypt.

In return, Ambassador El Salahey expressed his deep gratitude to the Nigerien authorities for the warm reception and consistent support he received throughout his tenure.

The ceremony was attended by Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Nigeriens Abroad, H.E. Mr. Bakary Yaou Sangaré; Dr. Soumana Boubacar, Minister and Director of the President’s Office, also serving as Government Spokesperson; and Ambassador Illo Adani, Advisor for Strategic and Diplomatic Affairs to the Head of State.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of vibrant and multifaceted cooperation between Niamey and Cairo.

Discussions also highlighted future collaboration prospects, particularly in the areas of training, security, and economic development.
