Mali: Destabilisation attempt neutralised

According to the press release, the Authorities of Mali have arrested a group of marginal elements from the armed and security forces, acting in collusion with civilians. These individuals are accused of criminal offences aimed at “destabilising the exercise of the Republic”.
Initial reports suggest the possible involvement of external support, at a time when Mali is making a sustained national effort to consolidate its institutions and combat terrorist forces.
This vigilance is part of the country’s commitment to the Confederation of Sahel States (AES), which advocates sovereignty and collective security.
The Malian government has reaffirmed its determination to confront any manoeuvre aimed at undermining the country’s stability.
It called on citizens to put the national interest first, not to allow themselves to be manipulated by disinformation campaigns and to avoid spreading unverified rumours.
In a particularly complex security environment, the authorities reiterate that national unity, discipline and mutual trust are the essential pillars for preserving peace, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The mobilisation of all remains essential to counter internal and external threats.
This neutralisation operation illustrates the constant vigilance of the defence and security forces, who are determined to protect the Republic and guarantee a safe and secure environment.
