Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré urges the youth of Kadiogo to embody national values

From August 10 to September 10, 2025, Burkina Faso has initiated its nationwide patriotic immersion program, beginning with a formal launch ceremony in Kadiogo Region (formerly Centre Region) at the Aboubacar Sangoulé Lamizana National Technical High School on August 13.

The event, attended by government officials, educators, and participants, featured a broadcast message from transitional President Captain Ibrahim Traoré to graduating high school students enrolled in the program.

His address emphasized the initiative’s role in fostering disciplined, nationally-conscious youth committed to Burkina Faso’s core values.

Kadiogo’s inaugural cohort joins thousands of young citizens participating across all regions in this month-long civic education program.

The curriculum combines practical training with exposure to national development realities as part of the transitional government’s broader nation-building agenda.

This regional launch establishes the template for subsequent ceremonies as the program expands nationwide.

The patriotic immersion represents the latest in Burkina Faso’s series of sovereignty-focused reforms, following recent military restructuring and educational curriculum overhauls emphasizing national history and self-reliance principles.
