Guinea appoints Paulo Duarte as new National team coach

The Guinean Football Federation (FGF) has named Portuguese manager Paulo Duarte as the new head coach of the Syli National. He replaces Michel Dussuyer and will be officially unveiled on Tuesday.

Duarte’s most recent African stint ended in June 2024 when he resigned as Togo’s coach after three years.

Known for his experience in African football, he now takes charge of Guinea’s national team, though the contract length remains undisclosed.

The move comes as Guinea seeks stability ahead of upcoming qualifiers. Duarte’s familiarity with the continent could prove vital in guiding the Syli National to future success.

His immediate task will be assembling a competitive squad for their next fixtures.
