Côte d’Ivoire: Based on erroneous information from the Henri Ségbo page, did the Ivorian DST assassinate ALINO Faso?

A Controversial Investigation

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 7:30 a.m., Mr. Traoré Alain Christophe, also known as ALINO Faso, who was being held at the Gendarmerie School, was found dead in his room. According to a statement by the Prosecutor of the Republic at the Abidjan Court of First Instance, ALINO Faso allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with his bedsheet after a failed attempt to slit his wrists. Investigations are underway to determine the reasons and circumstances behind this apparent suicide.

However, this version of events is strongly disputed by several sources, including information obtained from individuals close to agents of the Ivorian Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DST). According to our colleagues at Sahel24.info, ALINO Faso was allegedly tortured by DST agents before succumbing to his injuries.

A False Tip with Tragic Consequences

On the eve of his death, a post published on Henry Sebgo’s page allegedly informed the Ivorian DST that ALINO Faso had been in telephone contact with the outside world. This claim, which turned out to be false, is believed to have triggered a tragic chain of events.

According to information gathered by Sahel24.info, DST agents removed ALINO Faso from his cell to interrogate him about the allegation. Despite his repeated denials, the agents reportedly tortured him in horrific ways, using shears to cut his body and submerging his head in water for extended periods.

Fabricating the Evidence

The same sources claim that after ALINO Faso died, DST agents moved his body back to his cell. They allegedly tore up his bedsheets and positioned him to make it appear as though he had hanged himself—matching the suicide narrative advanced by the Prosecutor of the Republic.

Unanswered Questions

The death of ALINO Faso raises many questions and casts doubt over the true circumstances of his demise. Ongoing investigations must determine whether the allegations of torture and evidence fabrication are credible, and whether the Ivorian DST was involved in a possible targeted killing.
