Mali: Presidents Assimi Goïta and Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi strengthen ties between Mali and Egypt

The President of the Transition and Head of State of Mali, His Excellency General Assimi GOÏTA, granted an audience on Thursday, July 24, 2025, to His Excellency Dr. Badr ABDELATTY, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt. This meeting is part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister delivered an official message from President Abdel Fattah AL-SISSI to his Malian counterpart — a strong gesture that reflects mutual respect and the shared desire of both Heads of State to build a solid partnership based on South-South cooperation, respect for sovereignty, and strategic complementarity.

This high-level visit follows the recent trip to Cairo by the Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, and reaffirms Mali’s growing commitment to a pragmatic diplomacy, open to African countries that share a common vision of independent development and collective security.

The Arab Republic of Egypt, a key continental power, offers Mali a reliable partner, particularly in areas such as military training, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure. This cooperation promises tangible opportunities for both nations and their peoples.
