Burkina Faso: Launch of a national dialogue on civic responsibility and citizenship

Ouagadougou, July 24, 2025 – Burkina Faso has launched a series of public conferences this Thursday at the SIAO, aimed at promoting the values of civic responsibility, patriotism, citizenship, peace, and social cohesion across the country’s 17 regions.
Spearheaded by the Presidential Initiative for Community Development (IPDC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, this effort seeks to build a national culture of civic engagement in response to current challenges.
“Every citizen must be ready to sacrifice for their country,” declared Me Edasse Rodrigue Bayala, Minister of Justice and spokesperson for the message of the President of Faso.
The minister called for daily patriotic commitment, rooted in solidarity, social harmony, and local development. The national tour will continue through the remaining 16 regions of the country, with a closing event scheduled in Bobo-Dioulasso in September.
This initiative is intended to support state reforms and strengthen the social fabric of Burkina Faso.
