United States: Donald Trump’s diagnosis of venous insufficiency raises questions about his health

The White House has announced that U.S. President Donald Trump is suffering from chronic venous insufficiency, following several days of speculation over visible bruises on his hand.
At 79, Mr. Trump recently underwent a full vascular examination due to swelling observed in his legs. According to spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, the marks on his hand are the result of repeated handshakes combined with aspirin use, which he takes as part of a preventive treatment for cardiovascular disease.
Chronic venous insufficiency, common among older adults, results in poor blood circulation in the legs, though doctors say it is not considered serious. No signs of thrombosis or arterial disease were detected.
Despite his age and the diagnosis, the president continues to assert his vitality, calling himself “the healthiest of all presidents.” A detailed medical report will be made public, the White House stated.
