Niamey: AES Ministers for the Promotion of Women received by President Tiani

Niamey, July 17, 2025 – The President of the Republic of Niger, General Abdourahamane Tiani, received on Thursday in Niamey the Ministers of Women’s Promotion, Social Action, and National Solidarity from the member countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the first AES ministerial conference dedicated to gender issues, solidarity, and social development, held in the Nigerien capital from July 14 to 17.
In attendance were Commander Rassewendé Pélagie Kaboré, Minister of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity of Burkina Faso; Mrs. Diarra Dienska Sanogo, Minister of Women’s Promotion and Family of Mali; and Professor Sidikou Ramateu Diarmakoye, Minister of Population, Social Action, and National Solidarity of Niger.
Following the audience, Malian Minister Diarra Dienska Sanogo expressed appreciation for the “warm welcome” from Nigerien authorities and thanked President Tiani for his personal commitment to women’s rights and the well-being of the Sahelian population.
“We are here to build a framework for dialogue among our countries and to strengthen a sovereignty that is no longer just a dream for the Sahel region”,she declared.
She also affirmed that the commitments made during this ministerial meeting would be translated into concrete actions through a roadmap currently being finalized, in alignment with the guidance provided by the AES Heads of State.
This meeting marks a significant step forward in social cooperation within the Alliance of Sahel States, as member countries aim to deepen coordination in the face of shared challenges related to development, social inclusion, and regional sovereignty.
