Burkina Faso’s Patriotic Support Fund drives National recovery efforts

President Ibrahim Traoré’s call for national mobilization has yielded an unprecedented response, with citizens contributing over 101 billion CFA francs (approximately $170 million) to the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP) in the first half of 2025.
These funds are now translating into tangible security and reconstruction achievements across the country.
Key infrastructure projects funded through the FSP include the critical 42-kilometer Kaya-Barsalogho road rehabilitation, enhancing mobility for security forces and facilitating the return of displaced populations.
The fund has also equipped local defense volunteers (VDP) with essential logistics for territorial reconquest operations and area security patrols.
The improved security situation has enabled the safe return of internally displaced persons to several villages, including Gabou, where agricultural activities have resumed.
Revitalized water points in reclaimed territories signal community revival, supported by ongoing VDP protection.
President Traoré emphasized that counterterrorism extends beyond military action: “Through the FSP, we’re building national resilience; combining security, reconstruction, and social cohesion for lasting peace.”
The initiative represents a comprehensive approach to stabilizing Burkina Faso, addressing both immediate security needs and long-term recovery.
