Niger to host inaugural AES Youth forum in Niamey

Niamey will make history on June 27 as it welcomes the first-ever Youth Forum of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center.
Announced by Niger’s Minister of Youth, Sidi Mohamed Al Mahmoud, the landmark event reflects the shared vision of AES leaders Niger’s General Abdourahamane Tiani, Burkina Faso’s Captain Ibrahim Traoré, and Mali’s General Assimi Goïta to position youth at the core of the region’s sovereignty, security, and prosperity.
The forum will bring together official delegations from Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and other African nations, serving as a pivotal step in regional integration.
It aims to mobilize Sahelian youth around a collective future through dialogue with policymakers, empowering them as strategic actors in rebuilding the region.
For host nation Niger, the summit reinforces its role as a regional hub and commitment to fostering a politically conscious youth one capable of advancing a united, stable, and prosperous Sahel.
The event underscores the AES’s determination to harness pan-African potential in pursuit of full sovereignty.
