Togo advances industrial Hub ambitions with new textile factory inauguration

President Faure Gnassingbé reinforced Togo’s ambitions to become a regional industrial hub with the official opening of Star Garments textile factory on June 18, 2025. Located at the Adétikopé Industrial Platform (PIA), this flagship project represents the government’s commitment to economic transformation through local industrialization and domestic value chain development.
The 13 billion CFA franc investment marks a significant leap for Togo’s textile sector.
Beyond modernizing the industry, the facility has already created over 2,200 direct jobs, particularly benefiting youth and women – key targets of the government’s inclusive employment policies.
Star Garments adopts a sustainable approach by processing local agricultural raw materials, boosting the competitiveness of “Made in Togo” products while stimulating interconnected sectors from cotton farming to garment production. This integrated development model strengthens the entire value chain.
The inauguration demonstrates the success of President Gnassingbé’s industrialization strategy to build a prosperous, inclusive and resilient economy. Through such concrete projects, Togo continues to enhance its appeal to industrial investors while generating wealth for its population.
