Burkina Faso’s President reaffirms commitment to National security during military address

President Ibrahim Traoré has reiterated his unwavering commitment to national security and sovereignty during a meeting with armed forces in the Centre-Sud region at “the Centre National d’Entraînement Commando (CNEC)” in Pô. The address coincided with the graduation of the 24th class of officer cadets from “the Académie Militaire Georges-Namoano”, where Traoré praised the troops’ bravery in repelling terrorist groups attempting to infiltrate the area.

Beyond commendations, the President delivered a strong message of vigilance and perseverance, urging soldiers to maintain strict surveillance of surrounding forests to prevent enemy resurgence.

He emphasized that lasting peace and stability depend on sustained military presence and heightened alertness in high-risk zones.

Traoré framed the conflict as an externally imposed war aimed at stripping Burkina Faso of its land and future, calling on troops to uphold their sacred duty to defend national integrity just as past generations fought for independence.

To enhance operational efficiency, he issued strict guidelines, including restrictions on mobile phone use to prevent distractions and vulnerabilities.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining strong ties with local communities, underscoring social cohesion as key to defeating terrorism.
