Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré celebrates Tabaski in solidarity with the fighting forces and calls for religious tolerance

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha (Tabaski), the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, joined the nation’s armed forces in prayer, reaffirming his unwavering support for those defending the homeland at great risk. This powerful gesture underscored the nation’s gratitude toward its soldiers and the President’s commitment to standing alongside those on the frontlines of national security.
Following the prayer, President Traoré emphasized religion as a unifying force, stating that the Defense and Security Forces draw courage and resilience from their faith.
He stressed that religion should foster love for one’s neighbor, patriotism, and collective dedication to the common good.
By praying alongside the military, the Head of State sent a strong message to the nation: religion must never divide but instead unite citizens around peace, solidarity, and brotherhood.
He urged all Burkinabe to use faith as a bridge toward social cohesion and national reconciliation.
Earlier, in a social media address, Captain Traoré thanked Muslim faithful for their role in promoting peace and stability.
He called on all citizens to embrace religious tolerance and coexistence essential foundations for a strong, united, and sovereign Burkina Faso.
Concluding his message, he prayed for divine protection over the armed forces and a swift recovery for the wounded.
