Arsenal pushes to keep Partey as contract nears expiry

With his Arsenal contract set to expire in June, Thomas Partey’s future remains uncertain despite manager Mikel Arteta’s public efforts to retain him. The Ghanaian midfielder, 31, has yet to agree to an extension, even as Arteta praises his impact this season.

“I want Thomas to stay and renew,” Arteta told press. “In terms of consistency, this has been his best campaign. His performances, availability, and influence have been exceptional—he’s a vital player for us.”

Partey, who joined from Atlético Madrid in 2020, has battled injuries in past seasons but has been pivotal in Arsenal’s midfield this term.

Arteta’s glowing remarks signal the club’s desire to secure his experience for their long-term project.

However, no agreement has been reached, leaving speculation open about a potential free transfer.

While Arteta’s admiration is clear, Partey’s decision may hinge on contract length or sporting ambitions.

As negotiations continue, Arsenal fans await clarity on whether the stalwart will extend his stay or depart the Emirates this summer.
