BOAD: partial funding of five projects, a decision Taken at the 137th Ordinary Session

The Board of Directors of the West African Development Bank (BOAD) convened for its 137th ordinary session under the chairmanship of Mr. Serge EKUE, Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of BOAD.

The Board approved the funding for five (05) new operations with a total amount of 91.313 billion CFA francs, bringing BOAD’s total commitments (across all operations) to 7,916.3 billion CFA francs since the start of its operational activities in 1976.

The approved loans are for the partial funding of the following projects:

  1. Construction of a butane gas storage sphere and filling center in Abidjan by SCCI GAZ SA in Côte d’Ivoire. Operation amount: 9 billion CFA francs.
  2. Construction and operation of a 30 MWc photovoltaic solar power plant with a 15 MW/45MWh storage system in Niakhar, Senegal. Operation amount: 15 billion CFA francs
  3. Construction of the Bouaké-Kanawolo Highway: Bouaké-Kobo section (69.5 km) in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. Operation amount : 30 billion CFA francs
  4. Loan proposal for the partial funding of the construction of infrastructure and systems for the Diamniadio – AIBD (19 km) section of the Regional Express Train (TER) in the Republic of Senegal. Operation amount: 35 billion CFA francs
  5. BOAD’s equity participation in the increase of the share capital of the Promotion and Participation for Economic Cooperation (PROPARCO) company. Operation amount : 2.313 billion CFA francs

the 137th Ordinary Session of the BOAD ended up with the approval by the directors of four (04) resource allocation proposals to support BOAD’s activities.

Closing the session, President Serge EKUE expressed gratitude, on behalf of the Bank’s Board of Directors, to the Ivorian authorities for their support in holding this session under the best conditions.
