Euro 2024: Croatia Held to 2-2 draw by Albania in thrilling Group B clash

In the second round of the Euro 2024 group stage, Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion hosted an intense match between Croatia and Albania in Group B.

Croatia, seeking redemption after a 3-0 loss to Spain, was held to a 2-2 draw by Albania.

The match started poorly for Croatia, with Jasir Asani setting up Laci for a header goal in the 11th minute, putting Albania ahead.

Despite Croatia’s dominance in possession, they struggled to create significant chances and entered halftime trailing.

The second half saw a persistent Croatian side finally equalizing in the 74th minute when Budimir assisted Kramaric.

Just two minutes later, Gjasula’s own goal gave Croatia the lead. However, in the dying moments of the match, Gjasula redeemed himself by scoring the equalizer, ending the game at 2-2.

This draw leaves both teams with one point each, and Croatia faces a must-win situation against Italy in their final group match to advance to the next round.
