Colonel Assimi Goïta leads Energy revolution in Mali with renewable Projects

Under the leadership of Colonel Assimi Goïta, the Malian Energy Company (EDM-SA) is set to launch several groundbreaking projects in the coming months to deploy renewable energies on a large scale.

These initiatives underscore Colonel Goïta’s unprecedented commitment to improving the quality of life for Malians, particularly in terms of electricity supply.

Mali has been grappling with an endemic energy crisis for several months. In response, Colonel Assimi Goïta, President of the Transition, has been tirelessly working to find sustainable solutions to energy challenges.

He commends the resilience of Malians in facing these issues. A week after the commencement of works on photovoltaic solar power plants in Sanankoroba, Safo, and Diakadougou – Dialakoro, Colonel Goïta delivered a significant batch of 25 generators, with 15 being received by the Minister of Energy and Water, aimed at bolstering national production capacity.

The handover ceremony took place at the Bamako International Conference Center (CICB) in the presence of top dignitaries of the country.

With a total capacity of 27.25 MW, these brand-new generators are intended to serve isolated areas not connected to the national grid.

 The first batch comprises 15 groups ranging from 600 to 1,200 Kva, totaling 16.8 MW, while the expected second batch will add an additional 10.45 MW.

Energy Minister, Mrs. Bintou Camara, announced the upcoming launch of new projects for the large-scale deployment of renewable energies.

These actions reflect Colonel Assimi Goïta’s attentiveness and commitment to the Malian people, as he strives to ensure their well-being and address the country’s energy challenges.
