Antoine Griezmann’s injury sidelines him from French National team duty: A setback for “Les Bleus”

The absence of Antoine Griezmann  looms large over the upcoming international break for the French national team. The 32-year-old striker’s arrival at Clairefontaine was marred by an injury, diagnosed after examinations that have ruled him out from featuring in Didier Deschamps’ lineup.

This marks a significant halt for Griezmann, who had been a consistent presence, featuring in 84 consecutive matches for Les Bleus.

However, his streak comes to an unfortunate end as he grapples with an ankle injury sustained during Atletico Madrid’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan.

Regrettably,  Antoine Griezmann will be sidelined for the team’s friendly encounters against Germany on March 22 and Chile on March 26, as confirmed by RMC Sport.

The absence of the 2018 World Cup winner raises questions about potential replacements, although options like Khéphren Thuram remain available within Deschamps’ selection pool.

As of now, it remains uncertain whether Deschamps will opt to fill the void left by Griezmann or maintain the current squad composition.
