Togo: President Faure Gnassingbé, a key player in reproductive health in Africa, honoured

At the conclusion of the 9th Congress of the Inter-African Group for Study, Research, and Application on Fertility (GIERAF) in Lomé, President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé was honoured for his leadership and dedication to reproductive health in Togo.

In recognition of his active involvement and key role in the success of the event, the Togolese Head of State was awarded the prestigious “Pioneer Medal” along with a symbolic sash representing renewal.

This honor reflects GIERAF’s appreciation for Togo’s ongoing efforts to enhance reproductive health and tackle fertility challenges across Africa.

Under President Gnassingbé’s leadership, Togo has launched numerous innovative initiatives in reproductive health in recent years.

The National Health Development Plan prioritizes fertility and infertility prevention, while the establishment of a legal framework for Assisted Reproductive Technology demonstrates the country’s commitment to providing tailored solutions to its citizens.

This distinction underscores Togo’s dedication to making reproductive health a cornerstone of human and social development, fostering family well-being, and shaping a brighter future for the African continent.
