President Faure Gnassingbé, true to his commitment to active diplomacy, is currently participating in the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York. This global event, which began on Sunday, September 22, brings together heads of state and government from around the world to address critical issues, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The theme of this year’s general debate, « Leave No One Behind: Acting Together for Peace, Sustainable Development, and Human Dignity for Present and Future Generations », aligns with the international priorities that Togo fully embraces.

At the core of this assembly, President Faure Gnassingbé represents Togo with a renewed determination to promote human-centered development. His efforts in fostering peace, dialogue, and national consensus have earned his country international recognition. During the assembly, Togo will reiterate its advocacy for inclusive sustainable development and the need for collective solutions to global challenges.

For the Togolese president, this participation also serves as an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic relations with international partners, particularly the United States. Through his leadership, President Faure Gnassingbé aims to solidify Togo’s position on the international stage, showcasing the country’s commitment to promoting ideals of peace and global cooperation.

Togo’s presence at the United Nations is yet another demonstration of its desire to play an active role in major international decisions, while defending the interests of its people and striving for a fairer and more sustainable future.
