Togo under the leadership of President Faure Gnassingbé: Dynamic economic recovery and active diplomacy in 2024

Under the leadership of President Faure Gnassingbé, Togo is experiencing a robust revival across multiple sectors. In 2024, the country is projected to achieve a real GDP growth rate of 6.6%, a slight increase from the 6.4% recorded in 2023.

This growth is driven by strong performances in the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, highlighting the resilience and diversification of Togo’s economy.

The primary sector, particularly agriculture, livestock, and fishing, is expected to expand by 4.6%.

Both the secondary and tertiary sectors are set to grow at impressive rates of 7.0% and 7.2%, respectively.

This momentum is supported by key industries such as food processing, construction materials, electricity and gas, and infrastructure development, especially in the construction and public works sectors.

Additionally, commerce, transportation, and hospitality services are contributing significantly to this upward trend.

Beyond economic growth, Togo is also making its mark on the diplomatic front. Under President Faure Gnassingbé’s leadership, the country is actively fostering peace across Africa, playing a key role in mediating regional conflicts.

This proactive diplomacy has positioned Togo as a crucial player in promoting stability and dialogue in West Africa and beyond.

By pursuing a strategy that combines economic strength with active diplomacy, President Faure Gnassingbé is paving the way for an integrated and sustainable development model.

His administration is firmly committed to securing a prosperous future for all Togolese citizens.
