Burkina Faso/Security: Strengthened security mechanisms in the interests of the population

In response to the escalating terrorist threat and the increasing number of destabilization attempts targeting state institutions, Burkinabe authorities are adjusting their strategies to ensure the maximum protection of the country, its citizens, and their property.

Tailored security measures are being implemented to address these evolving challenges. One such measure involves the extension of systematic checks on all packages entering and leaving Burkina Faso, now including certain types of vehicles.

Over the weekend, it was announced that police would begin scrutinizing vehicles that previously enjoyed relatively unrestricted movement. The current security context demands heightened vigilance, and authorities have deemed it necessary to impose stricter control.

Criminals and destabilizers, determined to achieve their goals, resort to various methods, and Burkina Faso’s leadership is equally committed to using all available means to bolster security.

According to official reports, ambulances, vehicles transporting remains, armoured trucks carrying currency or valuables, mining vehicles, and diplomatic cars will now be subject to rigorous police checks upon entering Ouagadougou.

This new measure aims to thwart any potential plots by the nation’s adversaries.

Additionally, there are reports of stolen vehicles being used to carry out criminal activities.

Citizens are urged to report any stolen vehicles to assist security forces in their efforts.

Authorities stress that the fight against these enemies must involve all levels of society to ensure success, as the safety and freedom of Burkina Faso depend on it.
