Shakira returns to World Cup stage with New Anthem “Dai Dai”

At 49, Shakira proves she is far from slowing down. The Colombian superstar unveiled “Dai Dai” on May 18, 2026 – the official anthem of the FIFA World Cup 2026, created alongside Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran.

“I still feel like I’m just starting out,” Shakira said during a virtual press conference from New York. “Thirty years into this career, I remain as passionate as on day one.”

For the first time, the World Cup final – scheduled for July 19 at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium – will feature a Super Bowl-style halftime concert. Shakira will share the stage with Madonna and BTS.

The artist will donate all proceeds from “Dai Dai” to FIFA’s Global Civic Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million for children’s access to education and football. “Since I was 18, I’ve dedicated myself to two things: writing songs and building schools,” she said. “Now these paths finally meet.”

Shakira, whose last World Cup anthem was the 2010 hit “Waka Waka”, will also give one dollar from every ticket on her upcoming US tour to similar causes.
