Burkina Faso: Commander Oumarou Yabré targeted by imperialist propaganda?

Since Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the name of Commander Oumarou Yabré, head of Burkina Faso’s intelligence services and leader of the National State Security Council, has been making headlines in media outlets aligned with neocolonial and imperialist interests—particularly those linked to France.
One striking example is Jeune Afrique, which has once again launched a familiar narrative against African leaders who challenge French influence for the benefit of their people.
In a recent publication, the media outlet attempts to depict Yabré as “the shadow of Captain Ibrahim Traoré,” suggesting his role in consolidating power and enforcing state security.
This tactic is a well-known strategy used by imperialist media to discredit those working for national sovereignty.
The portrayal of Commander Yabré appears to be nothing more than an effort to undermine and demoralize a patriot devoted to the protection and stability of Burkina Faso.
His unwavering loyalty to his country and commitment to safeguarding it from external and internal threats are now being weaponized against him by propaganda-driven narratives.
Given these developments, heightened vigilance is crucial to counter attempts at destabilization.
Burkina Faso has long been a primary target of foreign interference. Such media attacks often signal deeper, orchestrated efforts to weaken the nation.
In response, the country’s leadership must remain steadfast, reinforcing security measures and thwarting any hidden agendas that seek to compromise national sovereignty.
