Africa: AES sets a new course with the launch of its passport

Starting January 29, 2025, the AES passport will officially come into effect, marking a pivotal milestone in the integration and mobility efforts within this African confederation. The announcement, made by General Assimi Goïta, President of the AES Confederation, underscores the significance of this initiative for fostering stronger ties among member states.

The introduction of the AES passport is part of a broader strategy aimed at facilitating the seamless movement of citizens across the region while strengthening economic, cultural, and political connections among member countries.

Designed to simplify administrative procedures, this passport will enable citizens to travel more freely within the confederation, fostering a sense of unity and belonging to a shared African identity.

However, the initiative transcends mere ease of travel. It reflects the vision of AES leaders to create a more cohesive, supportive, and integrated region where individual mobility serves as a driving force for collective prosperity and sustainable development.

By promoting a common identity, the AES passport stands as a powerful symbol of the commitment to deepen cooperation, encourage cultural exchange, and advance shared projects for the region’s future.
