Mali’s Armed Forces celebrate 64th Anniversary with tribute to wounded soldiers
As part of the 64th anniversary celebrations of the Malian Armed Forces, the President of the Transition, General Assimi GOÏTA, paid tribute to wounded soldiers during a visit to the Military Polyclinic on Monday, January 20, 2025.
The event was attended by key figures, including the President of the National Transition Council, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, and several government members.
This visit, now a customary gesture, underscores the President’s commitment to honoring the sacrifices of injured soldiers in service to the nation. It serves as a heartfelt acknowledgment of their courage and dedication in protecting Mali’s sovereignty.
Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, General Sadio CAMARA, highlighted the significance of January 20 as an opportunity to celebrate the valor of Malian soldiers, reflect on the achievements of the Armed Forces, and set a vision for the future.
President GOÏTA shared a meal with the wounded soldiers, symbolizing the nation’s gratitude and solidarity. The occasion also included the presentation of honorary decorations, recognizing the bravery and service of injured troops.
