Togo – Rwanda: President Faure Gnassingbé’s active diplomacy, the driving force behind a win-win partnership

Under the leadership of President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, Togo continues to advance its strategy of diversifying strategic partnerships to drive development. The country’s collaboration with Rwanda has become a cornerstone of this approach, recently elevated during an official visit by the Togolese leader to Kigali.

Accompanied by a ministerial delegation, President Gnassingbé engaged in high-level discussions with his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame.

These talks identified key sectors for enhanced bilateral cooperation, including agriculture, trade, investment, renewable energy, and green financing.

The productive exchanges culminated in the signing of strategic agreements aimed at accelerating joint initiatives in these critical areas.

Beyond economic collaboration, the visit reinforced a shared vision on pressing regional and global issues.

Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to fostering greater African integration through mutually beneficial partnerships and sustainable development efforts.

This deepened relationship between Lomé and Kigali highlights the effectiveness of Togo’s diplomacy, which seeks to position the country as a key player in intra-African trade and cooperation.

The dynamic partnership reflects a commitment to solidarity, innovation, and shared progress, setting an example of how African nations can work together for mutual prosperity.
