Togo’s fight against terrorism: A Strategic priority under President Faure Gnassingbé

Since the launch of Operation Koundjoaré in September 2018, Togo has intensified its efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism under the leadership of President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé. The initiative aims to protect the northern region, a critical area vulnerable to transnational threats affecting the region.

“We will not concede an inch of our territory,” President Gnassingbé declared, calling for nationwide solidarity to safeguard Togo’s sovereignty.
