Burkina Faso: Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, the government is stepping up its efforts to ensure the well-being of the population
Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, the Burkinabe government is intensifying its initiatives to ensure the well-being of its citizens by achieving food self-sufficiency.
Significant strides have been made in the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors, with encouraging outcomes.
The latest step forward is the establishment of the Burkinabe Council for Agricultural, Livestock, and Fisheries Sectors (CBF), a public economic institution designed to streamline and energize these critical industries.
This bold reform addresses a pressing challenge: despite efforts from the Burkinabe Cashew Council (CBA) and other stakeholders, the agro-pastoral and fisheries sectors have remained poorly structured, hindering their development potential.
By replacing the CBA, the newly formed CBF aims to create a conducive environment for sustainable growth, offering targeted support to stakeholders and addressing their unique needs.
Through its focus on sustainable development and improved coordination among sector players, the CBF is set to become a driving force for Burkina Faso’s economic progress.
This initiative, championed by President Traoré and his administration, reflects their unwavering commitment to fostering inclusive development and achieving lasting food self-sufficiency.
