Burkina Faso: Muslim women support President Ibrahim Traoré in the fight against terrorism

The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, received a delegation from the women’s wing of the Muslim community of Burkina Faso on Friday. These women, carrying a message of support, came to express their solidarity in the fight against terrorism and the restoration of peace in Burkina Faso.

The spokesperson for the delegation, Hadja Aïcha Kagambé, emphasized that although women are not physically present on the battlefields, they play a crucial role within their homes. « Women may not be on the front lines, but in our families, they are mobilized day and night in prayer for peace to return to our country, » she stated after the audience. This spiritual and moral support, she noted, is their way of actively participating in the national effort to restore peace.

Hadja Kagambé also highlighted the importance of women’s roles as mothers, wives, and sisters. According to her, the women of the Muslim community in Burkina Faso are deeply committed and stand in solidarity with Captain Traoré in this difficult struggle. « We have come to encourage the President and to tell him that, as mothers, wives, and sisters, we are with him in spirit, » she affirmed with conviction.

On behalf of all the women in the community, she called on those she referred to as « people without faith or law » to lay down their arms and choose the path of peace. « We implore the Almighty to enlighten them and guide them back to the right path. May He instill piety in their hearts and teach them to be more humane towards their fellow beings, » she added.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, through his inclusive policy, continues to involve all social groups in the fight against terrorism. This approach, which highlights the key role of women in society, underscores the President’s determination to mobilize every citizen, regardless of their position, to collectively tackle security challenges. Constructive exchanges with Muslim women reflect the importance of this broad mobilization, both spiritually and communally, to restore peace in the country.
