Burkina Faso/Fight against terrorism: Revalorization of the management of VDP, the ball is in the court of the whole population

New decisions were taken, by Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, president of the transition, to create acceptable living conditions for the civilian population of Burkina Faso (VDP), which voluntarily committed itself alongside the Defence and Security Forces (SDF), to combat insecurity, particularly terrorism in Burkina Faso.

Among these decisions, the increase in the VDP disability premium from 1 million 800 thousand to 3 million FCFA, the monthly salary from 60 thousand to 80 thousand FCFA, the death capital of 1 million to 3 million FCFA and the burial costs increase from 100 thousand to 250 thousand FCFA, starting in January 2024.

In addition, VDP still benefit from a food premium of 1.500 FCFA per day and medical care costs of 2.000 FCFA per month. A way for the transitional authorities to encourage and support these valiant fighters who sacrifice themselves day and night.

It is true that decisions have been taken, to make possible this vision of the head of state and his government. We refer in particular to the decision to levy percentages on monthly wages, on bonuses for all public and private officials and on corporate profits; without forgetting the salary of the head of state dedicated to the patriotic support fund.

But it is up to each Burkinabe citizen living or not on the territory, to make more sacrifice in this year 2024, which is a year of intensification of the fight against criminal groups. Initiatives to coordinate and pool resources are already being taken by certain associations and movements to support the war.

And if every citizen did the same, even if it was only 50f or 100f a day or a week. In doing so, it contributes to the achievement of the goal of ending terrorism in this year 2024. The fighters need the support of their compatriots to advance further. Even more efforts to definitively free themselves from these criminals and build the Nation.
