Burkina-Faso: The draft budget for the year 2023 adopted by the Council of Ministers.

The Council of Ministers held last week under the chairmanship of President Ibrahim Traoré adopted a draft budget for the year 2023. The law allocates a considerable part of the budget to security and humanitarian aid, which remain a priority for the Captain in his governance.
The Council of Ministers adopted the draft budget for the year 2023. The Minister in charge of Finance, Aboubacar NACANABO, noted that particular emphasis was placed during the proceedings of this weekly meeting on the priority of the hour, which is security. The fight for the restoration of peace and stability requires enormous funding. For this reason, the bulk of this budget is directed towards security and its corollary, the humanitarian issue.
« This budget has been set in revenue at 2600 billion CFA francs and in expenditure at 3200 billion. This shows a financing need of 600 billion that must be sought », said Minister NACANABO.
To fill this gap, « the Government intends to rely on a reasonable debt at an acceptable cost, to continue modernizing revenue agencies for optimal mobilization of revenue and rationalization of public expenditure.
This draft budget adopted by the Burkinabe government, which plans to devote the bulk of finances to the security sector, is part of the various measures taken by the Head of State Ibrahim Traoré for a more effective fight against terrorism and the regaining of territorial integrity.
